On a cold rainy day like today, with a day off from the gym, Mario is at work and Sasha at school, THIS mama is catching up on some blog posts while sipping on this big mug of CALM. I say it’s calm because while it does give me some energy, it does NOT give me that JOLT of energy that my Organic Espresso Coffee does in the morning. That stuff has my heart pounding, and I am able to zip through the entire house, three floors and get it all cleaned- like this morning!
Back to my Matcha Tea.
So Matcha Tea is an antioxidant powerhouse! Yea, it’s better than your green tea. When you drink matcha tea, you are ingesting the entire leaf and has about 130 times more antioxidants than your average green tea, in fact, one cup of Matcha Tea is equivalent to 8-10 cups of green tea.
While this tea is all that and then some, I would caution pregnant women. Because you consume the whole leaf with matcha, the concentration of lead is higher. You don’t have to avoid it, and it won’t harm you because the levels of lead are rather low, but I would say if I were pregnant, I wouldn’t drink it.
→ 1 cup boiling water
→ 1/2 cup almond milk
→ 2 drops liquid stevia
→ 1 tsp. TeaKi Hut Matcha Tea- Loose
Once water is boiled, add the matcha tea. I use a frother and whiz it up. Add in the stevia and almond milk, Froth again, and enjoy the calm feel-good energy!
