It’s that time of year again! Another post from me, about how I pack for vacation.
We are heading back to Scottsdale Arizona.Last time we were there, Sasha was five months old. Do you remember when I posted about that fantastic trip?
Packing for vacation can be stressful, but packing for babies, toddlers or children will take your stress to a whole new level! When Sashas was smaller, she required more things to pack. Now that she is four, I find myself packing less and less for her. Thank Goodness!
The good news is that if you are staying in the states, you can just find a store anywhere to get the essentials that you may have forgotten.
I think the most important part of packing is the bag you will be bringing on the plane. We have a five-hour flight ahead of us, so this mama needs to make sure we have plenty to do and plenty to eat. My Cave Man husband eats A LOT!
You want to be smart about what you bring. I don’t know about you, but when I go on vacation, I want to look and feel my best. Being bloated and having any stomach issues is NOT a great way to kick off your holiday!
Let’s start with Sasha”s backpack. Oh yes, Little Mama will be wearing her bag through the airport! It’s not too heavy and gives her an opportunity to learn about the responsibility of her things.
I got this backpack for her when she was four months old. I loved it because of all the compartments. On the outside, there are two holders for cups or bottles. The front pocket with the zipper is great for wipes, hand sanitizer and anything you can get in a hurry. Inside, I was able to fit about eight books, her tablet, her snacks, and sunglasses.
The Camel-Bak cups for kids are the best, in my opinion! While she doesn’t use them anymore, I did grab this one, just for traveling. There is nothing worse than your kid spilling juice water or coconut water on the chair on the plane. Be prepared.
The Fizzy Vitamin C drinks are a MUST! Chug one when you get on the plane going to your destination and coming home.
Babyganics makes these awesome little packets of hand sanitizer, which I will be using to wipe down the trays, the seats the windows and anything else Sasha touches on the plane!
You all know how Mario and I feel about Screens and kids. We don’t allow Sasha to watch TV freely, and that goes with her tablet and our smartphones as well. Screens shrink your babies brains! It’s fact that when you allow your babies so much TV time, their brains don’t develop the way they should! I can totally see that. Anyway, Her tablet is coming with us, because it has learning games we can play with her. It has books we can read to her, which will eliminate me bringing twenty pounds worth of books. Those things are heavy!
At CVS, you can find these little containers of Play-Doh. By the time we land, these will be dried out and ready for the garbage, and that’s okay! This is why we can them.
There will be some lessons for Sasha as well. KUMON books are excellent and such a great way for you to see how smart your kid really is!
There is also a Minnie Mouse activity book where she can draw, color and do some games with us. So, you can see, I have packed so much less for Sasha for the plane ride. Look at what I packed here for her!
And Now for this mama’s Big ‘Ol Carry on! My big LV bag, simply because it’s like a huge black hole where you can fill it and fill it and just stuff everything you own in it, and not worry about carrying a backpack too!
There is nothing I dislike more than when my skin feels so dry and flaky and when my eyes are dry and itchy. It’s not a good look either. Here are some things I use during my flight to keep my skin supple, moisturized and glowing.
Solar Recovery is awesome. This little pretty blue bottle is filled with lavender and water. During my flights, I will spray it on my skin along with Sasha’s too. It’s soothing, relaxing and keeps my skin fresh. Because I’m sanitizing my hands so much, my hands tend to get dry. Having a hand lotion is always a must!
Who doesn’t love Rose Hip Oil?? If you are getting on a super early flight and not wearing makeup, it’s okay! just rub some Roe Hip oil into your skin on your face and it will glow glow glow!
Alba Brand products are all chemical free and smell delicious! This chapstick is awesome for flights. I do also love the Moroccan Magic.
Yes, I use all this stuff on Sasha too, except the Visine Eye Drops. Those are for me. Rubbing your eyes is so bad for them, so make sure you keep eye drops with you so your eyes stay lubricated!
This time I am FULLY prepared for when I get hungry! In August we went to Cali. On that flight, I brought hard boiled eggs, which was great for me, but the smell is horrible, especially on a plane! This time, I will make a Rhubarb Protein pancake to bring on the plane. In addition to my pancake, I will bring my High Fiber cereal, a small bowl + spoon along with some collagen Peptides and Protein Powder to sprinkle on my cereal. I will just ask the flight attendant for hot water so I can mix my cereal. This will leave me full for about two hours or so. After that, I do have my BELOVED GG Crackers!
The little bottles you see are filled with Nutra Bio Protein in Strawberry, Chocolate, and Vanilla. Gotta have Options! I also packed some BCAA’s to shake in a bottle of water with some more collagen! Can’t have enough collagen! That’s for sure!
RX Bars are a MUST for any traveling whether near or far! They fill you with protein fats and some fiber. I packed these for Mario since he can never eat enough eggs! :O)
The Reishi Coffee is for Mama! Finally a coffee you can drink to just chill without the side effects of super-caffeinated coffee.
Well, my friends, this is the most updated of all of my packing and vacation posts. I hope wherever you are traveling with your family, you are prepared, glowing, satiated and feeling great.
