So today’s run was called Blink! It should have been called DON’T BLINK! The intervals are 60 seconds, but you run for 40 seconds then on an incline for the last 20 seconds of the run for the first segment. I will say that the quick changes in each segment allowed for this run to go by faster.
So far, since I have started the runs in this book, I find the runs challenging yet so doable and fun! I am definitely NOT bored and I am NOT on the treadmill looking running and running like a gerbil on a wheel. I notice that when I have to do a run at a fast pace on an incline, I do it, and actually enjoy it! Hills were the one part of running I didn’t like. Now I sort of (not 100% yet) but sort of look forward to the challenge of running at a pace that’s hard and with an incline that I would normally shy away from. I feel such a pump in my legs and especially my glutes!
My energy was great today, as I have been FORCING myself to close my eyes either AT 11:00 on the nose or before. I don’t wake up until 7:00, that is unless little mama wakes me up! There are a few supplements I take and have taken for years that help me with my energy levels, and moods. If you are in your mid-forties, you know what I mean about moods. Perimenopause and menopause will cause your body many different changes, one being your energy levels and the other is your overall mood.
I know you’re probably thinking “WHY ME”? Well, I was too! Before these changes in my body, I considered myself pretty calm, always happy and always in a good mood. Now sometimes the smallest thing will set me off into a bad mood and sadly there isn’t anything you can do to stop these changes but at least there are supplements to help. You’ve read my post on adaptogens, right?? So adaptogens are amazing plants that help lower cortisol and stress in your body. Your adrenals take a beaten and can really throw your body off in so many ways. Adaptogens will help your adrenals. In my next post, I’ll share more about adaptogens, and how to choose the right ones for you. In the meantime, make sure you are eating your veggies, not skipping meals, and get sleep!

After that run, I squeezed in a quick arm workout but didn’t have enough time to finish it so I will finish it this weekend along with some abs! I won’t be at the gym on Saturday so I may workout at home. Lots going on with my little busy girl! My taxi service for Sasha has begun!
