Having flashbacks of our first trip to Italy, I thought I’d share some of our most incredible memories of Italy! Two of my most amazing clients recently just went to Italy on vacation. You can read Elizabeth’s blog here on Capri, Positano, and Ravello. Both clients went to the places that Mario and I both went. Their trips filled my heart with so much happiness for them because I remember how spectacular my first trip to Italy was and how I will always hold it close to my heart. It was my first time out of the country and the first time I was able to meet some of Mario’s family who resides in Malvito.
Our first trip to Italy was back in August of 2009. I had no idea I was about to fall in love with this country and its people.
This trip would start in Rome for three days. Our goal was to explore the Piazza Di Spagna, The Pantheon, The Trevi Fountain, Vatican City and of course, the Coliseum. It may not seem like a lot of exploring, but I will tell you that for Vatican City and the Coliseum, plan ahead, get there bright and early in the morning and get tickets before you get to Italy.
We flew into Rome and began our adventure on August 12, 2009. I honestly don’t remember getting off the plane. I do remember driving through the streets of Italy taking in all the sights. We arrived so hungrily and so jet lagged, we decided to eat in the Garden of our Hotel. For the first time, I drank black coffee, and it was delicious! Unfortunately, we were so exhausted from the flight, that no espresso would have kept us awake. We passed out around eleven o’clock and slept until around three thirty! When we woke up, it was time to freshen up and explore this romantic, exquisite, historic elegant country.
I hope you’ll enjoy these posts as I flashback to one of the most incredible trips of my life. I don’t think I blogged enough about some of the beautiful places Mario and I have traveled together. This trip was back in 2009 it’s been a while, I am sure nothing has changed and there is even more to love. Rome, Florence, Sorrento, Positano, Ravello, Calabria, Malvito and back to Rome. Find out just how amazing the food is, how affectionate the people are and how breathtaking the views were.
Stay tuned for each beautiful stop along the Amalfi Coast!
